Why TECS?

The Question
When considering enrolling your child into a Christian school, you may ask the question, "Why choose Town East Christian School?" We believe several factors set Town East apart from other institutions making it a great choice for local families:

Stability
Founded in 1969, Town East has been educating students for the past fifty-six years. Accredited through the National Association of Private Schools, our school is led by a school president and several faculty members that have been involved in Christian education for decades. We consider it a calling and a privilege to be involved in a student's education.

Quality
We believe that a Christ-centered education instilling traditional values, patriotism, and integrity are necessary to prepare a student for success. To achieve this education, we use the award-winning ABEKA curriculum in our traditional classrooms; however, we use other curriculum options as well to accommodate and/or complement the varying needs of each student. The success of our graduates in colleges, universities, military service, and the work force is a testament to our commitment to quality in education.

Opportunity
Academically, our smaller class sizes and teacher-to-student ratios offer more individual attention for each student. Town East also offers enrollment in dual-credit college courses through St. Phillip's college, enabling high-school students the opportunity to graduate with up to a year's worth of college credit hours.

Athletically, Town East has won state championships in six-man football and basketball, as well as tournament championships in volleyball and basketball on both the state and national levels; however, in spite of our competitive sports' programs, our athletic department allows all students to participate in sports regardless of their skill level.

Affordability
Though proud of our school's success, we know that our tuition and costs must stay reasonable in order for parents to afford a private education; therefore Town East strives to keep some of the lowest tuition rates in the city and entire surrounding area, and offers discounts to families with multiple enrollments.

We hope that these factors help to answer the question of school choice when it comes to your child's education, and that you will find Town East Christian School to be the best place for your family.

FAQs

ADMISSION FAQs

Is Town East Christian accredited?
Town East Christian School values the importance of accreditation and is accredited by NAPS (National Association of Private Schools). This is an accrediting agency located in Oklahoma City, OK.

The National Association of Private Schools is an independent accreditation agency nonaffiliated with any state, secular or regional accrediting agencies. If a student chooses to re-enter a state or regionally accredited public or private school, the receiving school may choose to test the student to determine if he/she should be placed in the desired grade level or if certain credits may be transferred. Although the vast majority of Public and Private Schools are cooperative concerning transferring credits from Private Schools accredited by the National Association of Private Schools, they are not required by law to automatically accept credits from any school.

Students who graduate from NAPS accredited schools, providing they have the proper academic credentials, testing and transcripts have entered:

(1) Colleges and Universities, including Community, Regional, Private and State colleges and Technical Schools,
(2) Military Services,
(3) Church and Educational Ministries,
(4) Business Ownership and the Work Place.

Many of the finest schools in the country are not accredited, yet their students rank with those from the largest and best funded private and public school programs. NAPS seeks to recognize, with non-intrusive criteria, the integrity and quality of these programs.

On what is the admission decision based?
Admission decisions are based upon a student's previous school records, teacher recommendations, results of standardized achievement test scores, and if necessary, an assessment. We look at the whole student, both evaluating their readiness and ability to succeed academically in our challenging curriculum, and if Town East Christian's structured environment is a good fit for that student.
